On the Hook

Today I got suckered into joining my brother and sister on the Paleo (aka caveman) diet. At stake: $400. All I have to do is stay committed for 50 days (minus 3 for my upcoming trip to Las Vegas).

What’s the Paleo diet? In a nutshell, it’s a simple way of eating how we were genetically meant to be eating. It’s how our ancestors, the Paleolithic people ate. Nothing processed. No grains. No legumes. No dairy. Tons of fresh vegetables and fruit. Healthy, unprocessed fats, like avocado, olive oil and fish oil. This is a pretty strict diet but seems manageable. I think I will miss cheese, chips and rice the most. However, I am allowed one "cheat meal" a week. I will definitely be taking advantage of that!

Tomorrow will be my last day of freedom. I'm planning pizza for dinner :)

    Mason has been talking about going paleo with his Crossfit peeps, but can't seem to commit because I do most the cooking...and drinking. Hehe!
